Walking Walker

There were so many titles I wanted to use for this post. Cruising Cat. The littlest Walker Walks. Catwalking. About 2 weeks ago Catherine was standing at the couch, turned around, and walked all around the living room. Then not much walking after that. On Wednesday she was at playgroup at the church and Pastor Harry's granddaughter was there (she's 6 weeks younger than Cat) and she started walking that morning (at playgroup). Well today Cat finally got it all together and just stood up in the middle of the room and took off....but crawling is still faster. I was getting anxious that she is almost 16 months and not walking yet. I am ready to have her walk so I can tell her to sit down! HaHa!! But I guess she just wanted to make sure that she could do it right. So here is a little video I shot tonight of her walking (please excuse the baby nudity).

Dino-Meredith

Meredith's kindergarten/grade 1 class just finished a unit on dinosaurs and did a program for the parents and the school before school let out for spring break. I had to shorten the video down, but you will get the general idea as to what it was like.

First "Official" Piano Recital

On Wednesday March 12th Christina and Shayne performed in a piano recital entitled, "Music Among Friends." All the students of Audrey Johnson performed. All but one, I think. Well, anyway. It was a wonderful evening filled with great music. Please note Christina's shirt. I sewed it and it fit her!

Shayne is playing Old MacDonald and Ode to Joy. Christina is playing Firefly and The Juggler. All audio commentary is contributed by Catherine and technical difficulties by Vincent.
(I had to split up the performances due to uploading problems)

Creston Valley Music Teachers Association Tea

On February 10th was the annual Creston Valley Music Teachers Association Tea where all the music teachers get to showcase some of their students. Christina and Shayne started piano lessons with Audrey Johnson on January 7th of this year and were already asked to perform! I'm sorry you cann't see them but you can hear them. Audrey is playing with them. Christina is playing Once There was a Princess and Shayne is playing Ode to Joy. Their next big recital is March 12th and then Focus on Youth in April so there will be lots of video to come this spring!

Kimberley Hockey Tournament

During the very early hours of February 2nd, Shayne, Meredith, and I were on the road to Kimberley. Never ever been there before we left earlier than everyone else (5 a.m.) but did grant us some extra time to grab breakfast at McDonald's. It was an all day tourney which was tiring for all. By the 3rd game that the kids played it was going in slow motion. Shayne did score some goals and Meredith...well...Meredith played her little heart out. One the clips Shayne does score a goal and Meredith is goalie and has a save. Shayne's number (black or white) is 13 and Meredith's is 17. They both are the only ones wearing yellow socks, plus Meredith is the only one with hot pink laces in her skates.

Christina's First Basketball Game

This is Christina's first basketball game played at Adam Robertson Elementary on January 24th (she's in the black number 14). As it was their first game it didn't go well and they got beat pretty bad. I do have to say that they have gotten better as the season has gone on. Christina has scored in one other game that I didn't get to go to and video (I have Sparks the same time she has her games so Shawn gets to go to the games). At the end of this video clip you see the ball go out of bounds and everyone say "OH"...well...the ball bounced of Vincent's head. Since it did bounce off his head....he was fine. hahaha!!
