All the years I missed seeing the Holiday Train when it would come to Carrington. We either had something going on at that time or it was TOO COLD to travel. So I had to move to BC to get to see it! It arrived yesterday at about 10am. We were their first stop of the morning. The Holiday Train is run by Canadian Pacific Railroad and is used to raise hunger awareness and help local food banks along the way. This was the first year that it actually stopped in Creston. Our mayor pulled some strings and got it here!! There was a great turn out, too. Most of the schools got to go. Christina's class was there. There was also an awesome performance by a band named Wide Mouth Mason that played some rockin' Christmas tunes with help from Melanie Doane on electric fiddle. So Grandma was right, it was an awesome experience and hope to see it again! Merry Christmas to all!
